Target Information
Glutamine synthetase는 glutamine synthetase family에 속하며, 동물에서 암모니아의 동화 과정은 glutamate dehydrogenase와 glutamine synthetase의 작용을 통해 이루어집니다. Glutamate는 질소 대사에서 중심적인 역할을 하며, 질소 공여자 및 수용체로 작용합니다. 또한 신경전달물질 glutamate의 대사 조절에도 중요한 역할을 합니다. GS의 활성은 adenylylation에 의해 조절되며, Alzheimer’s disease로 영향을 받은 뇌의 대뇌피질에서 감소합니다. 또한 포도당 결핍 상태에서도 감소합니다.
