Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
CD2 (LFA-2) is a monomeric surface antigen (MW 45–58 kDa) expressed on human T-lymphocytes. It is present on over 95% of thymocytes and some natural killer cells but not on B lymphocytes.
CD2 interacts with CD58 to stabilize adhesion between T cells and antigen-presenting or target cells. T cell activation increases CD2 expression and mobility, enhancing CD2–CD58 interactions and intercellular adhesion.
CD2 deficiency is associated with reduced intestinal inflammation and altered immune responses. Diseases linked to CD2 dysfunction include penis squamous cell carcinoma and immune deficiency due to thymus absence.
