Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
When using this carrier-free antibody for conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The progesterone receptor (PR) is a member of the steroid family of nuclear receptors mediating the physiological effects of progesterone, which plays a central role in reproductive events such as establishment and maintenance of pregnancy.
PR exists as two forms: a 94 kDa protein (Form A) and a 120 kDa protein (Form B), resulting from alternative translation initiation. PR-B is transcriptionally active, regulating genes for endometrial maintenance and inhibition of ovulation. PR-A lacks 165 amino acids at the N-terminus, exposing an inhibitory domain that represses steroid hormone transcriptional activity.
In its inactive state, PgR forms a multiprotein complex including heat shock proteins and immunophilins. Progesterone binding induces conformational change, dimerization, and binding to progesterone response elements (PRE), leading to transcriptional activation.
A null mutation in the PGR gene causes pleiotropic reproductive abnormalities.
