Dentatorubral pallidoluysian atrophy (DRPLA)는 희귀 신경퇴행성 질환으로, 소뇌실조, 근간대성 간질, 무도증, 치매 등이 특징입니다. 이 질환은 해당 유전자 내의 삼염기 반복(CAG/CAA)이 7–35회에서 49–93회로 확장되는 것과 관련이 있습니다. 단백질은 세린 반복과 산성/염기성 아미노산이 교대로 존재하는 영역, 그리고 가변적인 글루타민 반복을 포함합니다. 대체 스플라이싱으로 두 가지 전사체 변형이 생성되며, 동일한 단백질을 암호화합니다.
