NPM1 (Nucleophosmin 1, B23, nutramin, NO38)는 리보솜 조립 및 수송, 세포질/핵간 이동, DNA polymerase α 활성 조절, 중심체 복제, p53 조절 등 다양한 세포 기능에 관여하는 인산화 단백질입니다. NPM1은 핵, 세포질, 핵소체 사이를 지속적으로 이동하며 히스톤의 이동을 돕습니다. 또한 핵산 결합, 단백질 응집 방지, 효소 보호 및 변성 단백질의 재접힘을 촉진하는 샤페론 역할을 합니다. 중심체 복제 과정에서 CDK2/cyclin E의 기질로 작용하며, 종양 관련 염색체 전위와 연관되어 NPM-ALK, NPM-RAR, NPM-MLF1 등의 융합 단백질 형성에 관여합니다. NPM1 기능 이상은 급성 골수성 백혈병 및 림프종성 질환과 관련이 있습니다.
