Target Information
TXNL2 encodes a member of the glutaredoxin family, which are oxidoreductase enzymes using glutathione as a cofactor. The encoded protein binds and modulates protein kinase C theta, may inhibit apoptosis, and influence cellular growth. Expression of TXNL2 may serve as a cancer marker. Pseudogenes are located on chromosomes 6 and 9, and alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed.
