Product Specific Information
This antibody detects a 240 kDa protein corresponding to the molecular mass of Talin on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of human A431, rat PC12, and rabbit fibroblast cells.
Target Information
Talin is a multifunctional constituent of cell-substratum attachment sites and a high molecular weight protein (225–235 kDa) found in various tissues and cell types. It localizes at adherens junctions and cell-matrix associations characterized by filamentous actin at the cytoplasmic face of the junctional complex. In cultured cells, talin is found predominantly at adhesion plaques and in fibrillar streaks underlying cell surface fibronectin. It interacts with vinculin and integrin at adhesion plaques.
