Immunogen
Clone M573 was generated from TRPM7 synthetic peptide (coupled to carrier) corresponding to amino acids in the extracellular region of human TRPM7. This site is well conserved in rat and mouse TRPM7 but has low homology to other TRPM family members.

This antibody detects a 220 kDa* protein on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of human MCF7 cells.
Target Information
TRPCs, mammalian homologs of the Drosophila transient receptor potential (trp) protein, are ion channels that mediate capacitative calcium entry into the cell. TRP-PLIK is a protein that functions as both an ion channel and a kinase. As a channel, it conducts calcium and monovalent cations to depolarize cells and increase intracellular calcium. As a kinase, it can phosphorylate itself and other substrates. The kinase activity is necessary for channel function, as shown by its dependence on intracellular ATP and by the kinase mutants.
