Product Specific Information
This antibody detects a 130 kDa* protein on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of human MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7 cells.
The antibody is also recommended for immunocytochemical labeling of cells.
Target Information
TRPM8 is a receptor-activated non-selective cation channel involved in detection of cool sensations, activated by cold temperatures below 25°C, icilin, eucalyptol, menthol, and changes in intracellular pH.
It is permeable to monovalent cations (Na⁺, K⁺, Cs⁺) and divalent cation (Ca²⁺).
TRPM8 is primarily expressed in prostate epithelial cells, showing moderate mRNA expression in normal prostate tissue and elevated levels in prostate cancer.
Expression has also been observed in nonprostatic tumors of breast, colon, lung, and skin origin, but is low or undetectable in corresponding normal tissues.
