Target Information
DAZAP2 encodes a proline-rich protein that interacts with the deleted in azoospermia (DAZ) and DAZ-like genes through DAZ-like repeats. It also associates with TGF-β signaling molecule SARA (Smad anchor for receptor activation), eukaryotic initiation factor 4G, and an E3 ubiquitinase regulating its stability in nuclear speckles. The protein may be involved in various biological and pathological processes, including:
- Spermatogenesis
- Cell signaling and transcription regulation
- Formation of stress granules during translation arrest
- RNA splicing
- Pathogenesis of multiple myeloma
