Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
CD79a is a disulfide-linked heterodimer that includes the B29 (CD79b) polypeptide. It functions as part of the B lymphocyte antigen receptor complex, associating with Ig-alpha and Ig-beta, which are essential for B-cell receptor expression and signaling. CD79a expression begins at the pre-B cell stage and continues through the plasma cell stage, where it is found intracellularly. It is present in most acute leukemias of precursor B-cell type, B-cell lines, lymphomas, and some myelomas, but absent in myeloid or T-cell lines.
Diseases associated with CD79a include Agammaglobulinemia 3 and Agammaglobulinemia, Non-Bruton type.
