Product Specific Information
Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
CD79a is a disulphide-linked heterodimer that includes the B29 (CD79b) polypeptide. It functions as a B lymphocyte antigen receptor with an antigen-specific surface component Ig (immunoglobulin) that associates with Ig-alpha and Ig-beta, essential for B-cell receptor expression and function.
CD79a appears at the pre-B cell stage and persists until the plasma cell stage, where it becomes intracellular. It is found in most acute leukemias of precursor B cell type, B cell lines, B cell lymphomas, and some myelomas, but not in myeloid or T cell lines.
Diseases associated with CD79a include Agammaglobulinemia 3 and Non-Bruton type Agammaglobulinemia.
