Product Specific Information

The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.


Target Information

HLA-DQB2 belongs to the family of HLA class II beta chain paralogs. Class II molecules are heterodimers consisting of an alpha (DQA) and a beta chain (DQB), both anchored in the membrane. They play a central role in the immune system by presenting peptides derived from extracellular proteins. Class II molecules are expressed in antigen-presenting cells (APCs: B lymphocytes, dendritic cells, macrophages).

Polymorphisms in the alpha and beta chains determine peptide-binding specificity, and typing for these polymorphisms is routinely performed for bone marrow transplantation. However, HLA-DQB2 is not routinely typed as it is not thought to influence transplantation outcomes. There is conflicting evidence regarding the protein-coding capacity of HLA-DQB2 in literature and sequence databases.

HLA and MHC antibodies are important tools in Immunopeptidomics, supporting the identification and characterization of neoantigens through high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry.
