Product Specific Information
0.5 µg/mL of MA5-45096 was sufficient for detection of Grp94 in 20 µg of heat-shocked HeLa cell lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-rat IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects approximately 98 kDa. Does not detect human HSP90, Grp74, or GrpE from E. coli.
Target Information
GRP94 is an 803 amino acid protein belonging to the heat shock protein 90 family. It functions as a molecular chaperone involved in processing and transport of secreted proteins. GRP94 and its N-terminal fragment stimulate CTL expansion and maturation of human monocyte-derived dendritic cells (MDDC). It plays a central role in both innate and acquired immunity, dendritic cell chemotaxis, antibody production, and cross-priming. GRP94 is implicated as a potential marker in breast cancer and participates in peptide loading of MHC class I molecules. Expression of GRP94 suppresses A23187-induced apoptosis and stabilizes calcium homeostasis. It is expressed in melanoma, liver metastases of colon carcinoma cells, and human gastric carcinoma BGC-823 cells.
