Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human EPO. Anti-Human EPO-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human EPO by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human EPO (500-P318) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 2000–4000 pg/mL of Recombinant Human EPO.

Western Blot:
To detect Human EPO by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible development reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human EPO is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Erythropoietin (EPO) protein is a growth factor essential for survival, proliferation, and differentiation of erythroid precursors. It induces final maturation of partially differentiated erythroid cells and promotes production of red cell-specific proteins such as hemoglobin.
EPOR is expressed at high levels on precursor cells and decreases with maturation. In fetuses, hepatocytes are the main source of EPO, while in adults, it is produced mainly by kidney interstitial cells.
EPO expression increases during hypoxia, and low levels are detected in lung and brain tissue. Studies suggest EPO may also protect neuronal tissue and aid in repair.
