Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human EPO. Anti-Human EPO-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human EPO by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human EPO (500-P318) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 2000–4000 pg/mL of Recombinant Human EPO.

Western Blot:
To detect Human EPO by Western Blot analysis, use at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible development reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human EPO is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Erythropoietin (EPO) is a growth factor essential for survival, proliferation, and differentiation of erythroid precursors. It induces final maturation of erythroid cells and production of hemoglobin. The EPO receptor (EPOR) is highly expressed on precursor cells and decreases during maturation. Hepatocytes are the main source of EPO in the fetus, while renal interstitial cells produce EPO after birth. Expression increases during hypoxia, and low levels are detected in lung and brain. EPO may also contribute to neuronal tissue protection and repair.
