Target Information
NF-kB is a nuclear transcription factor activated by various stimuli such as cytokines, UV radiation, stress, injury, and microbial products. It regulates cellular processes including growth, differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis, and inflammation.
NFKB1 (p50) is a 50 kDa subunit of NF-kB, synthesized as a p105 precursor containing an N-terminal RHD region with nuclear localization, DNA-binding, and dimerization domains. NFKB1 (p50) forms homo- or heterodimers with p65 to create functional NF-kB complexes, directing nuclear translocation and DNA binding.
NF-kB has been implicated in pathological conditions such as AIDS, metastatic cancer, and rheumatoid arthritis.
