Target Information
FGF10 is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family, which possesses broad mitogenic and cell survival activities. It is involved in embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth, and invasion. FGF10 shows mitogenic activity for keratinizing epidermal cells, with little activity for fibroblasts, similar to FGF7. Studies in mouse suggest that FGF10 is essential for embryonic epidermal morphogenesis, including brain and lung development and limb bud formation. It also plays a role in wound healing.
