Product Specific Information

  • Recommended positive control: human spleen
  • Human CXCR1 reacts with CXCR1 transfected cells and not with the parent cell line by flow cytometry.
  • The antibody shows no cross-reactivity with human CXCR2.
  • Endotoxin level is less than 10 ng per mg antibody as determined by the LAL method.

Target Information

CXCR1 is a member of the G-protein-coupled receptor family and serves as a receptor for interleukin 8 (IL8). It binds IL8 with high affinity and transduces signals via a G-protein–activated second messenger system. Knockout studies in mice suggest that CXCR1 inhibits embryonic oligodendrocyte precursor migration in the developing spinal cord. The IL8RB gene, encoding another high-affinity IL8 receptor, and IL8RBP, a pseudogene of IL8RB, form a gene cluster mapped to chromosome 2q33–q36.
