• Store vial at -20°C prior to opening.
• Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage.
• Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.
• Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
• Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
• Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This antibody specifically reacts with the amino terminal end of human NAG-1 protein from human tissues.
A BLAST analysis suggests partial reactivity with NAG-1 from chimpanzee and macaque based on 92% homology.
Multimeric forms of NAG-1 may be detected. Cross-reactivity with NAG-1 from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

GDF-15 belongs to the TGF-beta cytokine family, which plays an important role in prenatal development, postnatal growth, and tissue maintenance.
It is predominantly expressed in the placenta and to a lesser extent in other tissues.
The presence of GDF-15 in amniotic fluid and its elevated levels in pregnant women suggest its involvement in gestation and embryonic development.
GDF-15 generally exerts tumor suppressive activities and is produced in response to activation of the p53 pathway.
Serum levels of GDF-15 are positively correlated with neoplastic progression in several tumor types, including colorectal, pancreatic, and prostate cancers.
