Product Specific Information

The G8.8 monoclonal antibody reacts with the 40 kDa mouse EpCAM (epithelial cellular adhesion molecule), also known as EGP40, 17-1A antigen, TACSTD1, and CD326. The immunogen used was the TE-71 thymic epithelial cell line. CD326 is expressed on most epithelial cells and is considered a pan-carcinoma antigen. It mediates calcium-independent, homophilic cell-cell adhesion and may act as a growth factor receptor.

Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on TE-71 cell line, recommended ≤0.25 µg/test (100 µL volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Super Bright 645 is a tandem dye excited by 405 nm violet laser and emits at 645 nm. Recommended filter: 660/20 bandpass. Ensure instrument compatibility.

When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific interactions.

Light Sensitivity: Protect from light to prevent photo-induced oxidation.
Fixation: Samples may be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal signal loss.

Target Information

Ep-CAM (epithelial adhesion molecule, ESA) is a transmembrane glycoprotein (~40 kDa) expressed in epithelial tissues. Functions as a calcium-independent homotypic adhesion molecule and influences cell cycle and proliferation by inducing c-myc and cyclin A/E. Overexpression correlates with enhanced epithelial proliferation and is a marker for epithelial-derived tumors. Expressed on baso-lateral surfaces of most simple epithelia and many carcinoma types. Also distinguishes adenocarcinomas from pleural mesotheliomas.
