Product Specific Information

The eBioC1.7 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD244 (2B4, p38), a 38 kDa protein expressed on NK cells, CD8+ T cells, γδ T cells, monocytes, basophils, and eosinophils. Binding of CD48 to CD244 enhances NK cell cytotoxicity and IFN-γ secretion. The C1.7 clone binds to the same residue as CD48, inducing NK cell activation via tyrosine phosphorylation and SAP recruitment.

Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells. Use at 5 µL (1 µg/mL) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Super Bright 645 is a tandem dye excited by a 405 nm violet laser and emits at 645 nm. Recommended filter: 660/20 bandpass. Ensure instrument compatibility.

Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) when combining multiple Super Bright dyes to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Light sensitivity: Protect from light to avoid photo-induced oxidation.
Fixation: Samples may be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal brightness loss.

Target Information

CD244 (2B4, SLAMF4) is a surface receptor on NK cells and some T cells, mediating non-MHC restricted killing. Interaction with SLAMF2 activates both SLAMF4- and SLAMF2-expressing cells. Reduced SLAMF4 levels are observed in systemic lupus erythematosus, suggesting a role in autoimmune pathology. CD244 dysfunction is linked to rheumatoid arthritis and lymphoproliferative syndrome. Alternative splicing produces multiple isoforms.
