Product Specific Information

The II/41 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mu heavy chain of mouse IgM. It does not react with other classes of mouse immunoglobulin including IgD, IgG or IgA. IgM is expressed intracellularly during early stages of B lymphopoiesis and on the surface of mature B cells.

• Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
• Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometry on mouse bone marrow cells at ≤1 µg/test (100 µL volume). Optimal titration recommended.
• Fluorochrome: Super Bright 645, excited at 405 nm, emits at 645 nm. Use 660/20 bandpass filter.
• Light Sensitivity: Protect from light due to photo-induced oxidation.
• Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.
• Recommended Buffer: Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product #SB-4401) when using multiple Super Bright conjugates.

Target Information

Mouse IgM is an immunoglobulin M antibody produced by B cells in response to antigens. It is the first antibody produced during an immune response and plays a key role in complement activation and antigen agglutination. Composed of five heavy and five light chains, IgM is crucial in innate immunity. It is widely used in ELISA, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry research applications.
