Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
This gene belongs to the cytidine deaminase gene family and is part of a cluster on chromosome 22, believed to have arisen from gene duplication. The encoded proteins are structurally and functionally related to the C-to-U RNA-editing cytidine deaminase APOBEC1, and they inhibit retroviruses such as HIV by deaminating cytosine residues in nascent retroviral cDNA.
