Target Information
LRIG1 protein (Q96JA1) is encoded by a gene located on chromosome band 3p14.3, a region known to be deleted in various human cancers. LRIG1 is considered a tumor suppressor gene in humans. It is an integral cell-surface membrane protein expressed by specific cells in various human tissues, and its 143-kDa form may be cleaved into 111-kDa and 32-kDa fragments. LRIG1 may inhibit the growth of glial cell tumors, and down-regulation of LRIG1 gene expression may be involved in tumor development and progression.
