Target Information
Human IgA (immunoglobulin A) is an antibody produced by the immune system in response to antigens. It is the most abundant immunoglobulin in mucosal secretions such as saliva, tears, and breast milk, playing a key role in defense against pathogens at mucosal surfaces. IgA binds to specific antigens to prevent their entry into body tissues and can activate complement and promote phagocytosis by immune cells.
Human IgA is useful for research on immune responses to pathogens and for developing diagnostic tests and therapeutic interventions for infectious diseases.
