Target Information
Human IgA (Human Immunoglobulin A) is an antibody produced by the immune system in response to antigens. It is the most abundant immunoglobulin in mucosal secretions, including saliva, tears, and breast milk, and plays a key role in defense against pathogens at mucosal surfaces.
IgA binds to specific antigens to prevent their entry into body tissues, activates complement, and promotes phagocytosis by immune cells.
Human IgA is useful in research on immune responses to pathogens and in developing diagnostic tests and therapeutic interventions for infectious diseases.
