Product Specific Information
- Predicted to react with bovine and hamster based on sequence homology.
- Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as ~150 kDa band; upon reduction, generates ~25 kDa light chain and ~50 kDa heavy chain bands.
- Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits.
- Advantages include:
- Enhanced specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulation
- Broader immunoreactivity due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
Target Information
Survivin (IAP4) is the smallest member of the Inhibitors of Apoptosis Protein (IAP) family. These proteins are involved in cell signaling, division, and metabolism, and are highly expressed in most human cancers but not in normal tissues. Survivin contains a single BIR domain and lacks a RING finger domain. Expression is high during fetal development and in tumors, but low in adult tissues.
Survivin associates with mitotic spindle microtubules during G2/M phase; disruption of this interaction induces apoptosis via caspase-3 activation. It is also expressed in brain tissues after traumatic injury, co-localizing with NeuN and PCNA, suggesting roles in neural cell proliferation. Multiple transcript variants exist, with at least three full-length isoforms identified. Overexpression of survivin in cancer may bypass apoptotic checkpoints, promoting abnormal cell division.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
