Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human sCD14. Anti-Human CD14-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human sCD14 by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well antibody solution), use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody.
When paired with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human sCD14 (500-P320) as a capture antibody, it enables detection of at least 2000–4000 pg/mL of Recombinant Human sCD14.

Western Blot:
For detection of Human sCD14 by Western Blot, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL of this antibody.
With compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human sCD14 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein expressed on the surface of mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils.
It functions as a multifunctional lipopolysaccharide receptor and exists in both membrane-bound and soluble forms.
CD14 binds lipopolysaccharide (LPS) molecules in a reaction catalyzed by lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP).
Soluble sCD14 can distinguish structural differences between LPS molecules and plays a role in neutralizing serum LPS.
It also binds apoptotic cells and is involved in allergic, inflammatory, and infectious processes.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same isoform.
Diseases associated with CD14 dysfunction include Mycobacterium chelonae infection and Croup.
