Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, an additional desalting step is recommended (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7 K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Adiponectin is a protein hormone secreted exclusively by adipocytes that regulates lipid and glucose metabolism.
It plays a key role in homeostasis and obesity-related processes. Reduced adiponectin levels are associated with obesity, insulin resistance, and hyperinsulinemia (type 2 diabetes).
In mice, adiponectin enhances insulin signaling and reduces intramyocellular lipid levels through activation of AMP kinase and PPAR‑alpha, promoting fatty acid oxidation and improved insulin sensitivity.
