CELLBANKER® 1 is a ready-to-use cell cryopreservation medium with serum-containing formulation for a broad spectrum of mammalian cell cultures. The unique formulation enables stable cryopreservation and high viability after freeze–thaw, even for sensitive cell lines.

Protocol
Freezing
For optimum results, cells should be in the log phase of growth. Standard freezing protocols may be substituted.
- Ensure cell culture is healthy and contamination-free.
- Perform cell count to determine viability.
- Centrifuge (3–5 min at 1,000–2,000 rpm, 4℃); remove supernatant.
- Suspend cells in CELLBANKER medium (1 mL for 5×10⁵–5×10⁶ cells).
- Dispense 1 mL aliquots into labeled cryovials.
- Freeze directly at −80℃; optionally transfer to liquid nitrogen after ≥24 h.
IMPORTANT: Optimum protocol may vary depending on cell type.
Procedure for Use (illustrated):
- Culture
- Centrifuge
- Remove Supernatant
- Suspend with CELLBANKER
- Aliquot
- −80°C (directly)
- Optional
Thawing
- Quickly thaw frozen cells in 37℃ water bath.
- Dilute each 1 mL of cells with 10 mL complete medium and mix gently.
- Centrifuge (3–5 min at 1,000–2,000 rpm, 4℃); remove supernatant.
- Resuspend in complete medium and plate in culture flask.
- Continue culture per standard protocol.
Storage and Stability
Store at 2–8℃ or below −20℃.
Stable for 3 years after manufacture when unopened and stored at 2–8℃.
