Description

CELLOTION® is a chemically defined cell washing solution that helps increase the yield of cell recovery. The unique formulation, free of serum, protein, and sugars, enables washing of cells, tissues, and organs efficiently.

Repeated cell washing during isolation or post-thawing often leads to significant cell loss, especially when using serum-free or protein-free media. CELLOTION® minimizes this loss, ensuring higher recovery rates.

Protocol

Use CELLOTION® as a substitute for general-use cell wash solutions such as PBS buffer, saline, or culture medium with standard procedures.

Example: Monocytes isolation using CELLOTION®

1. Dilute peripheral or umbilical cord blood (UCB) with CELLOTION® (1:1).
2. Add Ficoll-hypaque solution (1:2) gently without mixing; blood remains on top.
3. Centrifuge for 30 minutes at 1,800 rpm, room temperature.
4. Collect the buffy coat (white blood cell ring) carefully with a sterile pipette tip.
5. Dilute and wash cells 2–3 times with CELLOTION®.
6. Count recovered cells.
