Target Information
STAT3는 STAT (signal transducers and activators of transcription) 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, 수용체 연관 키나아제에 의해 인산화되어 핵으로 이동 후 전사인자로 작용합니다. STAT3의 활성화에는 CREB-binding protein과 같은 공동활성화 인자가 필요하며, Interferon-α, Interferon-γ, EGF, PDGF, IL-6에 의해 활성화될 수 있습니다. Tyrosine 705의 인산화는 STAT3 이합체 형성, 핵 내 이동, DNA 결합에 필수적입니다. 인간의 STAT3 유전자는 염색체 17q에 위치하며, 세포 성장과 아폽토시스 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여합니다. PIAS3 단백질은 STAT3의 특이적 억제제로 알려져 있습니다. STAT3 유전자의 결실은 생쥐에서 배아 초기 단계에서 치명적입니다.
