Rat anti-Mouse CD36 antibody, clone MF3 recognizes mouse CD36, also known as platelet glycoprotein 4, glycoprotein IIIb, or PAS IV.
Target Information
CD36, also known as scavenger receptor class B member 3, is a surface protein expressed on macrophages, platelets, and adipocytes.
It plays key roles in lipid metabolism, inflammation, and atherosclerosis, mediating recognition and uptake of oxidized LDL, long-chain fatty acids, and apoptotic cells.
CD36 also functions as a receptor for thrombospondin and contributes to Plasmodium falciparum cytoadherence.
Mutations in CD36 can cause platelet glycoprotein deficiency. Multiple transcript variants exist for this gene.
Associated diseases include Platelet Glycoprotein IV Deficiency and Coronary Heart Disease 7.
