Rat anti-Mouse CD36 antibody, clone MF3 recognizes mouse CD36, also known as platelet glycoprotein 4, glycoprotein IIIb, or PAS IV.
Target Information
CD36, also known as scavenger receptor class B member 3, is expressed on macrophages, platelets, and adipocytes. It is involved in lipid metabolism, inflammation, and atherosclerosis, recognizing ligands such as oxidized LDL, long-chain fatty acids, and apoptotic cells. CD36 acts as a receptor for thrombospondin and mediates cytoadherence of Plasmodium falciparum-infected erythrocytes. Mutations in this gene cause platelet glycoprotein deficiency. Diseases associated with CD36 include Platelet Glycoprotein IV Deficiency and Coronary Heart Disease 7.
