This antibody detects endogenous levels of Integrin beta 1 only when phosphorylated at Tyr795.

Target Information

ITGB1 (Integrin Subunit Beta 1, beta1 integrin subunit, GPIIa, CD29) is a 110 kDa cell surface glycoprotein widely expressed in various cells including all leukocytes. It forms non-covalently linked heterodimers with multiple alpha chains (α1–α6, CDa–f), determining the binding properties of beta1 (VLA) integrins.
ITGB1 acts as a cell adhesion molecule on platelets and as a component of complexes binding extracellular matrix proteins. Reduced ITGB1 expression is linked to tumor multidrug resistance. It is upregulated during leukocyte migration and plays a critical role in immune cell trafficking and inflammatory responses.
Fibronectin and type I collagen enhance cytokine secretion via ITGB1-dependent mechanisms. Two major forms of integrin beta1, beta1A and beta1D, differ by 13 amino acids and show tissue-specific distribution: beta1A is ubiquitous except in cardiac and skeletal muscle, which express beta1D.
