PA1-045 detects synapse-associated protein 102 (SAP102) from rat tissues.
It has been successfully used in Western blot and immunohistochemistry procedures.
By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~102 kDa protein representing SAP102 in rat brain homogenate.
Immunohistochemical staining of SAP102 in rat hippocampus yields a pattern consistent with post-synaptic localization.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues G(83)–G(100) of rat SAP102.
PA1-045 immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-023) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.
Target Information
Synapse-Associated Protein 102 (SAP102) is a plasma membrane-associated protein found in synaptic junctions.
It contains three PDZ domains, followed by SH3 and GuK domains.
SAP102 is involved in receptor and channel clustering contributing to neuronal plasticity.
It interacts with NMDA receptors and shaker-type potassium channels sharing a T/SXV motif.
Other neuronal proteins such as β1 adrenergic receptor, serotonin receptors, and sodium channel subunits may also interact with SAP102 via PDZ domains.
Neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS), which lacks the T/SXV motif, can associate with SAP102 through PDZ-PDZ interaction.
