Product Specific Information
PA1-044 detects synapse-associated protein 97 (SAP97) from rat and human tissues.
This antibody does not detect other synapse-associated protein family members.
PA1-044 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures.
By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~140 kDa protein representing SAP97 from rat brain homogenate.
The PA1-044 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues E(16) E Y R S K L S Q T E D R Q L R S S(33) of human SAP97.
This sequence is completely conserved in rat and mouse.
PA1-044 immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-022) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.
Target Information
This gene encodes a multi-domain scaffolding protein required for normal development.
It may play a role in septate junction formation, signal transduction, cell proliferation, synaptogenesis, and lymphocyte activation.
Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described, but the full-length nature of some variants is not known.
