Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of RYR3 only when phosphorylated at Ser160.
Target Information
RYR3 (Ryanodine Receptor 3) functions to release calcium from intracellular storage for use in many cellular processes. It plays a key role in skeletal muscle contraction by mediating calcium release from the sarcoplasmic reticulum following depolarization of T-tubules.
Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms of RYR3 have been identified. RYR3 contributes to calcium ion homeostasis and cellular signaling by regulating Ca²⁺ release from the sarcoplasmic and endoplasmic reticulum.
Diseases associated with RYR3 include Central Core Disease and Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia 2.
