Antibody detects endogenous levels of STK3 only when phosphorylated at Ser316.

Target Information

STK3 (MST2) is a STE kinase family member acting upstream of MAP kinase signaling pathways. It is activated by proapoptotic stimuli such as staurosporine and FAS ligand. STK3 functions as a stress-activated, pro-apoptotic kinase that, after caspase cleavage, enters the nucleus to induce chromatin condensation and DNA fragmentation.
It is a key component of the Hippo signaling pathway, which regulates organ size and tumor suppression by controlling proliferation and apoptosis. STK3/MST2 and STK4/MST1, in complex with SAV1, activate LATS1/2 and MOB1, leading to phosphorylation and inactivation of YAP1 and WWTR1/TAZ.
Phosphorylation of YAP1 prevents its nuclear translocation, thereby regulating genes involved in cell proliferation, death, and migration. STK3/MST2 and STK4/MST1 are critical for repressing hepatocyte proliferation and preventing tumor formation.
