Specificity:
This antibody is specific for murine CD20, a 33–37 kDa non-glycosylated surface phosphoprotein expressed on mature and most malignant B cells, but not on stem cells or plasma cells.

Target Information

CD20 is a non-glycosylated surface phosphoprotein (33–37 kDa depending on phosphorylation) expressed on mature and most malignant B cells, a subpopulation of T lymphocytes, and follicular dendritic cells.
It regulates transmembrane calcium conductance, cell cycle progression, and B-cell proliferation. CD20 associates with lipid rafts, with intensity depending on extracellular triggers and BCR aggregation.
After receptor ligation, BCR and CD20 colocalize and rapidly dissociate before BCR endocytosis, while CD20 remains on the cell surface.
CD20 is a key target for antibody-mediated B-cell depletion therapies, as it is highly expressed on most B-cell malignancies and remains membrane-bound following treatment.
Diseases associated with CD20 dysfunction include Ms4a1-related common variable immune deficiency.
