Target Information
The MVP (Major Vault Protein) gene encodes a lung resistance-related protein that forms part of the vault complex, a multi-subunit structure implicated in nucleo-cytoplasmic transport. MVP is associated with drug resistance, potentially through transport mechanisms. It is widely expressed in normal tissues and overexpressed in multidrug-resistant cancer cells, making it a potential marker for clinical drug resistance. Two transcript variants are produced using alternative exon 2 sequences, but both encode the same protein.
