Mouse anti-Human CD88 antibody, clone P12/1 recognizes the C5a receptor (C5aR), also known as CD88 or C5a anaphylatoxin chemotactic receptor 1.
Target Information
CD88 (C5aR1) is a C5a Anaphylatoxin Receptor that mediates the effects of one of the most potent chemotactic agents known.
C5AR1 has been implicated in asthma and is expressed in various tissues including myeloid blood cells, brain, liver, lung, spleen, heart, kidney, and intestinal tract.
Functionally, CD88 stimulates chemotaxis, granule enzyme release, and superoxide anion production.
It is involved in the classical complement pathway and may contribute to tissue injury associated with ischemia or sepsis.
