Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Anti-Carboxypeptidase B (Rabbit) Antibody is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography, followed by extensive dialysis.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Rabbit Serum, and purified Carboxypeptidase B (Porcine Pancreas).
Cross-reactivity against Carboxypeptidase B from other sources may occur but has not been specifically determined.
Target Information
Three different procarboxypeptidases A and two different procarboxypeptidases B have been isolated.
The B1 and B2 forms differ mainly in isoelectric point. Carboxypeptidase B1 is a highly tissue-specific protein and serves as a useful serum marker for acute pancreatitis and pancreatic transplant dysfunction.
It is not elevated in pancreatic carcinoma.
