Product Specific Information
- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration.
- For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.
- Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
- Product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
- Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Rabbit Serum, and purified/partially purified alpha-1-Acid Glycoprotein (Human Plasma).
- Cross-reactivity against alpha-1-Acid Glycoprotein from other sources may occur but has not been specifically determined.
Target Information
ORM1 is an acute phase plasma protein synthesized by the liver. It regulates interactions between blood cells and endothelial cells, and, together with haptoglobin and C-reactive protein, modulates cell extravasation during infection and inflammation. ORM1 is a major acute phase reactant in both humans and rats. In human plasma, ORM1 (44 kDa) is present at 0.5–1.4 mg/mL. Its concentration increases during acute inflammation (e.g., trauma, malignancies, myocardial infarction, rheumatoid arthritis, bacterial infections, major surgery, chronic pain), and can aid in diagnosing inflammatory conditions.
