Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional round of desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CD30 (Ki-1, TNF Receptor Superfamily Member 8) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the TNF receptor superfamily. It was initially identified on Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg cells using monoclonal antibody Ki-1.
CD30 binds to its ligand CD30L (CD153), mediating diverse biological processes including cell proliferation, activation, differentiation, and apoptosis. It plays a crucial role in Hodgkin’s disease and other CD30⁺ lymphomas and functions as a costimulatory molecule in thymic negative selection.

CD30 is expressed on:

  • Hodgkin’s and Reed-Sternberg cells
  • Certain non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas (e.g., Burkitt’s lymphomas)
  • Virus-infected T and B cells
  • Activated normal T and B cells

In T cells, CD30 is present on subsets producing Th2-type cytokines and on CD4⁺/CD8⁺ thymocytes co-expressing CD45RO and IL4 receptor.
Soluble CD30 (sCD30) reflects Th2 immune response. TRAF2 and TRAF5 interact with CD30, activating NF-κB signaling.
CD30 positively regulates apoptosis, limits autoreactive CD8 effector T cell proliferation, and contributes to autoimmune protection.
Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported. CD30 expression is characteristic of mononuclear cells in Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Reed-Sternberg cells, and most Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphomas (ALCL), as well as embryonal carcinomas.
