Product Specific Information

The UCHT1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD3e, a 20 kDa subunit of the TCR complex. The epsilon chain, along with CD3 gamma and delta, is essential for proper assembly, trafficking, and surface expression of the TCR complex. CD3 is expressed by thymocytes and all mature T cells. Crosslinking of TCR via immobilized UCHT1 initiates intracellular signaling leading to activation and proliferation.

  • Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells (≤1 µg/test).
    • A test is defined as the amount of antibody staining a sample in 100 µL volume.
    • Recommended to titrate for optimal performance.

  • Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

The CD3 complex is crucial for transducing antigen-recognition signals into T cells and regulating surface expression of the TCR complex. It comprises CD3 gamma, delta, epsilon, and zeta subunits, encoded by genes on human chromosome 11. These subunits contain cytoplasmic tails with tyrosine-based motifs mediating signal transduction. CD3 is expressed on most peripheral blood lymphocytes and thymocytes, but not on B or NK cells. Defects in CD3 genes are linked to CD3 immunodeficiency.
