Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information

GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase) is a catalytic enzyme involved in glycolysis, existing as a tetramer of identical 37-kDa subunits. It catalyzes the reversible reduction of 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate to glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate in the presence of NADPH.

Beyond its glycolytic role, GAPDH is ubiquitously expressed and participates in:

  • DNA replication and repair
  • Nuclear RNA export
  • Membrane fusion and microtubule bundling
  • Apoptosis and neurodegenerative disease pathways

GAPDH interacts with amyloid precursor protein (linked to Alzheimer’s disease) and Huntingtin (linked to Huntington’s disease), as well as actin and tubulin. Due to its high expression in most tissues, GAPDH serves as a reliable protein loading control in Western blot analysis.
