IgA는 면역글로불린 알파 중쇄의 일정 영역을 표적으로 하며, 면역글로불린은 B세포에서 생성되는 막결합 또는 분비형 당단백질입니다. 항원 결합 시 클론 확장과 형질세포로의 분화를 유도하며, 분비된 항체는 항원을 제거하는 체액성 면역 반응의 주요 매개체 역할을 합니다. 항원 결합 부위는 중쇄와 연쇄의 가변 영역으로 구성되며, V-(D)-J 재배열 및 체세포 돌연변이를 통해 친화성 성숙이 이루어집니다. IgA는 체액 분비물에서 주요 면역글로불린 클래스입니다. [UniProt]
