Target Information
Histone H3 is one of the DNA-binding proteins found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with four core histone proteins, H3 binds to DNA forming the nucleosome structure. Histones play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability.
Post-translational modifications of histones, such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, influence chromatin structure and cellular processes. The N-terminal tail of histone H3 can undergo various modifications that affect transcription factor binding and chromatin dynamics.
